When you respond to the 2020 Census questionnaire you tell the Census where you live as of April 1, 2020. Be sure to count everyone living in your household on April 1st.

Key Information and Events
The 2020 Census is underway and households across America are responding every day. The Census Bureau mailed postcard invitations to every household with instructions for completing the 2020 Census questionnaire online in March and mailed paper questionnaires to some households in April.
Internet and paper questionnaires can be completed in 13 languages. Respondents can ask questions or to give their census answers to a Census taker over the phone by calling a 2020 Census Questionnaire Assistance Line.
Important Dates
Reminder postcards and reminder letters have been mailed to households that did not respond to the first invitation to respond in March.
Overall Timeline
The Census Bureau is adapting or delaying some operations due to COVID-19. Please respond online, by phone or by mail to help ensure a complete count.

Internet and paper questionnaires can be completed in 13 languages and in braille. Answers can also be given over the phone by calling these numbers.
Ways to Respond to the 2020 Census
Once the invitation to participate in the 2020 Census arrives, you should respond for your home in one of three ways:
Online
The 2020 Census marks the first time you’ll have the option to respond online.
By Mail
Complete the Census 2020 Survey Questionnaire and return by postal mail service.
